Hedione High Cis is a high-cis grade of methyl dihydrojasmonate (MDJ), the airy jasmine molecule behind modern transparent florals. The cis isomer is the one that carries most of the smell, so enriching it gives a noticeably stronger, brighter and more diffusive material than standard MDJ. This one is sold as MDJ HC 70, a grade with about 70–77% of the cis isomer (standard MDJ is roughly 10% cis).

What it smells like

Luminous, fresh jasmine with a magnolia creaminess and a citrusy lift. It is more radiant and has more bloom than regular Hedione, and it projects well from skin and fabric.

How perfumers use it

Use it where you want Hedione's glow at a lower dose or with more punch: in florals, colognes, fresh musks and woody-amber blends. It spreads the other notes around it. You can also blend it with standard MDJ to raise a formula's overall radiance.

Blends well with: Methyl Dihydrojasmonate, Iso E Super / Ambergris Ketone, Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, Musks, Bergamot.

What is the difference between Hedione and Hedione High Cis?

Both are methyl dihydrojasmonate. The high-cis grade has more of the cis isomer, which is the most odour-active form, so it smells stronger, brighter and more diffusive.

Can I replace regular Hedione with Hedione High Cis?

Yes, but use less. High Cis is more powerful, so start at roughly half to two-thirds of the regular dose and adjust by smell.

Is Hedione High Cis IFRA restricted?
