Perfume Making Kit for Beginners & Creators

A perfume making kit is a boxed set containing the fragrance materials and equipment needed to blend a wearable perfume yourself: concentrated perfume oils, a base or solvent to dilute them into, measuring and transfer tools, bottles to fill, and instructions explaining how the parts fit together. Oil-based kits like this one need no alcohol, which is what makes them practical to use at home.

The kit holds 300 g of material in total: 100 g of perfume oil concentrate and 200 g of fixative base. Blended at roughly one part oil to two parts base, that yields about 300 g of finished perfume, or roughly 25–30 bottles of 10 ml once you allow for what stays behind in the beaker and pipettes. Because there are five oils, you have 31 possible combinations to explore before you even start varying the ratios.

No. This is an oil-based perfume kit and everything required is in the box. You do not need perfumer’s alcohol, distilled water, a scale or any additional solvent, which also means nothing in the kit is flammable or restricted to ship.

The kit ships with five of our best-selling perfume oil concentrates, chosen to span contrasting scent directions — fresh, floral, woody and oriental — so that early blends smell balanced rather than muddled. The exact five are listed on the card inside your box, and any oil from our range of 200+ can be reordered separately as a refill.

About 15 minutes of active work to measure, blend and bottle. After that, leave the blend to rest for 24–72 hours before you judge it — oil perfumes need a little time for the materials to marry, and the scent on day three is usually rounder than on day one.

Oil-based perfumes generally sit closer to the skin than alcohol sprays but last considerably longer, commonly six to eight hours and more on pulse points and clothing. Longevity depends on how much concentrate you use and where you apply it.

It is one of the better ones for a creative recipient: it arrives in a gift box, it is an activity rather than an object, and the person receiving it ends up with several perfumes they made themselves. It suits birthdays, anniversaries, Diwali and Christmas gifting, and works for corporate gifting in quantity.

The perfumes you blend are yours to wear, gift or sell. If you intend to sell commercially in India you will also need to meet the usual cosmetic labelling and registration requirements that apply to any fragrance product — worth checking before you list anything for sale. Many of our customers use the kit to test ideas before moving to bulk oils.

Most entry-level kits supply a small quantity of one pre-diluted fragrance oil and a plastic bottle. This kit supplies 100 g of undiluted concentrate across five oils, 200 g of fixative base, reusable laboratory glassware and a proper teaching guide — so you are learning to formulate rather than decanting something that was already made for you. Every oil is also available as a refill by the gram.

Keep everything tightly closed, away from direct sunlight and away from heat. Stored cool and dark, perfume oil concentrates remain stable for two to three years, and the beaker, pipettes and vials are reusable indefinitely. Finished blends generally improve over their first few weeks.
