BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) is an antioxidant used in small amounts to protect fragrance oils, essential oils and aroma chemicals from oxidation. It helps citrus oils, aldehydes and other sensitive materials keep their smell for longer.

How perfumers use it
Add a small amount to fragrance concentrates and oxidation-prone materials such as citrus oils and aldehydes. Dissolve the crystals in the oil phase or a solvent before adding. Follow the usage limits that apply to your final product.
