Globalide is Symrise's name for oxacyclohexadecenone, the same clean macrocyclic musk that dsm-firmenich sells as Habanolide. Its signature is a warm, slightly metallic 'hot iron on clean cotton' note that makes a musk base smell freshly laundered and radiant.
What it smells like
Clean, radiant and silky, with the characteristic metallic hot-iron nuance and a soft powdery-woody warmth underneath. Very diffusive for a musk and very long-lasting.
How perfumers use it
Use it to lift and brighten musk bases, add a clean-linen effect to florals, and give woody-amber blends more radiance. It works beautifully with ethylene brassylate and Musk G for a full, modern musk accord.
Blends well with: Ethylene Brassylate, Musk G / Galaxolide, Exaltolide, Hedione, Iso E Super.
Equivalent to Habanolide
Globalide (Symrise) and Habanolide (dsm-firmenich) are the same macrocyclic musk, oxacyclohexadecenone, from two manufacturers. The isomer mix differs slightly, so they are interchangeable in most formulas; smell-test before a straight 1:1 swap. Prefer the original brand? We also stock Habanolide DSM Firmenich.

Not restricted under the current IFRA Standards (51st Amendment). A restriction proposed during the 52nd Amendment consultation was withdrawn in August 2026 after new data showed it is not a skin sensitiser.
