Geraniol is the sweet rose-geranium alcohol found in palmarosa, geranium and rose oils. Together with phenyl ethyl alcohol and citronellol it forms the core of almost every rose accord. We offer two grades: Geraniol 980, a high-purity grade, and Geraniol 600, a commercial grade with a softer, rounder profile.
What it smells like
Sweet, fresh rose with a geranium-leaf greenness and a light citrus lift. The high-purity 980 grade is cleaner and brighter; the 600 grade carries related terpene alcohols that make it rounder and a little more natural-smelling.
How perfumers use it
Geraniol is the rosy freshness in rose, geranium and muguet accords and is widely used in soaps and attar-style oils. Choose 980 when you want a clean, reproducible note in fine fragrance; 600 is a cost-effective choice for soap, candles and bulk compounds. Check the certificate of analysis for exact composition.
