Musk G Pure is HHCB, the clean, sweet polycyclic musk that most people know as Galaxolide. It is the 'fresh laundry' musk in detergents and a quiet workhorse in fine fragrance, adding volume and staying power without drawing attention to itself.
Clean and sweet with a soft floral-woody musk, like freshly washed cotton. It is diffusive and very long-lasting, so you notice it more in the dry-down than on the first sniff.
Use it as a base note and fixative across florals, fresh and woody accords, and in attar-style oils. Blending it with a macrocyclic musk such as ethylene brassylate or Habanolide gives a rounder, more expensive-smelling musk base than any single musk alone.
Blends well with: Ethylene Brassylate, Habanolide / Globalide, Iso E Super, Hedione, Ambroxan.
Galaxolide is IFF's trade name for HHCB, the same molecule as Musk G. You can use it in the same places at the same dose. Check the certificate of analysis for your batch if you're matching a formula that was built on a diluted grade. Prefer the original brand? We also stock Galaxolide 100 IFF.
